Miss Teen USA 2010 is Miss Maryland Teen USA, Kamie Crawford

Paradise Island, Bahamas – Kamie Crawford, Miss Maryland Teen USA was crowned Miss Teen USA 2010 at the beautiful Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas on July 24, 2010. The 17-year-old winner is from Potomac, MD. The Miss Teen USA® pageant was streamed online to a worldwide audience at www.missteenusa.com and at www.seventeen.com.

Miss USA®2008, Crystle Stewart, and Seth Goldman of NBC’s “Entertainment Buzz” emceed this year’s pageant. Outgoing Miss Teen USA 2009, Stormi Henley, debuted her anticipated single “Quite Like Me” during this year’s show, marking the beauty’s first worldwide musical performance.

This year’s distinguished panel of judges included: Chuck LaBella, Emmy-nominated producer associated with shows such as “The Celebrity Apprentice” and “Last Comic Standing;” Fred Nelson, President of People's Choice and oversees the People's Choice Awards; Michelle Malcolm, President of Michelle Malcolm and Associates and producer of the Miss Bahamas Beauty Pageant; Chet Buchanan, radio and television personality, creator and host of Las Vegas’ top-rated radio show "Chet Buchanan & The Morning Zoo”; Heather Kerzner, Ambassador of Kerzner International; and Eva Chen, Beauty and Health Director, Teen Vogue.

Throughout the event, the contestants competed in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. Stormi Henley, Miss Teen USA 2009, crowned her successor at the conclusion of the two-hour live event. The first runner-up is Lexi Atkins, Miss Illinois Teen USA, who will assume the duties of Miss Teen USA 2010 if for some reason she cannot fulfill her responsibilities.

2010 Miss Teen USA® Pageant and the Second Annual Miss Teen USA Fantasy Camp to be Held at Atlantis

Miss Teen USA® Finals Will be Broadcast Live Online. New York, NY (April 26, 2010) — The Miss Universe® Organization (MUO) and Atlantis, Paradise Island announced today the 2010 Miss Teen USA® Pageant will be webcast live on July 24, 2010, from the luxury resort in The Bahamas on www.missteenusa.com and www.seventeen.com. This will be the third year in a row Atlantis has hosted the Miss Teen USA® pageant, and the second year the Miss Teen USA® Fantasy Camp will be offered in the days leading up to the pageant.

The Miss Teen USA® pageant will be broadcast to a global online audience via Ustream, the leading internet broadcasting platform, and NewTek TriCaster Portable Live Production System.

The Miss Teen USA® pageant is an annual competition for girls between the ages of 14 and 19, each representing their home state and the District of Columbia, respectively. The winner will have the opportunity to spend the year of her reign living in New York City as a student of The New York Film Academy, representing her title and working with multiple charitable alliances, including Best Buddies, Sparrow Clubs, Girl Talk, D.A.R.E. and Project Sunshine.

The second annual Miss Teen USA® Fantasy Camp at Atlantis, Paradise Island, the only pageant preparation program endorsed by MUO, will take place the week leading up to the pageant, July 19-25. The Miss Teen USA® Fantasy Camp provides prospective competitors with an unparalleled, behind-the-scenes look at the preparation required to become a national titleholder, such as Miss Teen USA®.

Girls ages 12-17 will have the opportunity to participate in a professional photo shoot with MUO photographers; receive hair, makeup and wardrobe tips from MUO titleholders, employees and affiliates; perfect stage skills through runway and choreography sessions; and meet Miss Teen USA 2009, Stormi Henley. Campers will also participate in resort activities, including a private spa party and dolphin interaction. The cost of camp, which includes room and board at the luxury resort for six nights and a gift bag with an exclusive Sherri Hill cocktail dress, is $1,975 per participant. Special rates are available for chaperones.

All campers, pageant competitors and resort guests will have access to the full grounds of Atlantis, including Aquaventure, a modern waterscape with more than 20 million gallons of water coursing throu
gh 141 acres of luscious tropical scenery. Water slides, river rides, pools and swimming areas allow guests hours of thrill-seeking adventure or lazy river-rafting relaxation. Atlantis is also home to the world’s largest open-air marine habitat. The resort’s 14 exhibit lagoons offer up-close views of more than 50,000 marine animals from over 250 species. At Dolphin Cay, visitors can meet and interact with the rescued Hurricane Katrina dolphins and sea lions in an encounter enriching for both the guests and the animals. Atlantis also boasts 21 culinary destinations, including restaurants helmed by celebrity chefs Bobby Flay, Nobu Matsuhisa and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Paradise Island, Bahamas - August 16, 2008 Stevi Perry, Miss Arkansas Teen USA was crowned Miss Teen USA 2008 at the beautiful Atlantis Paradise Island Resort on August 16, 2008. The 18-year old winner is from Hamburg, Arkansas. "Days of Our Lives" star and former Miss Teen USA 2004 Shelley Hennig joined Seth Goldman of NBC's "Entertainment Buzz" to emcee the pageant, and Bahamian female R&B sensation TaDa performed.

MISS TEEN USA DOES SOME SERIOUS GIRL TALK

ATLANTA, GA and NEW YORK, NY – MAY 12, 2008 – The Miss Universe® Organization announced today its new partnership with Girl Talk Inc., a nonprofit student-to-student mentoring program that inspires young teen girls to build self-esteem, develop leadership skills and recognize the value of community service.

“We are delighted to make Girl Talk one of the official Miss Teen USA charitable alliances,” said Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe® Organization.  “Communication is so important and Girl Talk is a wonderful outlet for these young ladies to talk to one another about the issues facing teens today.”

With the partnership, Miss Teen USA and state titleholders will visit existing Girl Talk Chapters, as well as help start Chapters in their own community schools. 

Founded in 2002 by Haley Kilpatrick, Girl Talk is a national nonprofit student-to-student mentoring program that offers fun, positive weekly meetings, community service projects and friendship building activities for middle school girls.  High school girls lead and mentor the middle school girls through weekly programs.  The organization has grown from 1 chapter in 2002, to more than 400 chapters and more than 30,000 members in the United States today.  Girl Talk anticipates having chapters in all 50 states by 2010.

"Extra's" Mario Lopez hosted the live telecast from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California on Friday, August 24th, 2007 from 8:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. ET/PT. Nineteen-year-old singing superstar, Kat DeLuna performed "Whine Up" and the sensational Jonas Brothers performed a medley of their hits "Hold On" and "S.O.S." during the telecast.

The judges for this year's competition included: Coty Beauty Vice President, Jay Clarke; Victoria's Secret model, Selita Ebanks; William Morris Agency's Senior Vice President, John Ferriter; actress, Melissa Joan Hart; former Miss Teen USA 2004 and "Days of our Lives" actress, Shelley Hennig; actor, Joey Lawrence; Warner Bros. Records Vice President of Artist Development, Nick Light; professional skateboarder and MTV's "My Life of Ryan" star, Ryan Sheckler; "Friday Night Lights'" actress, Aimee Teegarden; and President of YMI Jeans, David Vered.

Throughout the live television event, the contestants competed in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview, and the "Top Five" finalists were selected. Katie Blair, Miss Teen USA 2006, crowned her successor at the conclusion of this two-hour primetime telecast, before an estimated worldwide viewing audience of more than 250 million in over 70 countries.

Final Results:

First Runner Up: Alyssa Campanella, Miss New Jersey Teen USA, will assume the duties of Miss Teen USA 2007 if for some reason Hilary Carol Cruz cannot fulfill her responsibilities.

Second Runner Up: Kaitlin Coble, Miss North Carolina Teen USA

Third Runner Up: Lauren Caitlin Upton, Miss South Carolina Teen USA

Fourth Runner Up: Chelsea Welch, Miss West Virginia Teen USA
